York City is delighted to announce that Miguel De Vicente has re-signed with the club for the 2017/18 Super League campaign and has been appointed the first team captain.
De Vicente was in imperious form last season, scoring 14 goals as City claimed the title unbeaten. He will take over from the former skipper, Daniel Pedras, after having filled in during Pedras' injury layoff.
Head Coach, Junior Roberti, explained his decision: 'Miguel did a fantastic job last season while Daniel was injured and after a lot of thought, I decided he should continue in the position.'
'I was really impressed with Miguel's commitment off the court in helping with the youth academy and setting an example for the younger players to follow.'
'I want to thank Daniel for his work as Captain and hope that he continues to be a leader and a key part of this team. It's great that we have such experience in the dressing room as the team continues to develop.'
York City Futsal will play in the new National Super League with a place in the UEFA Champions League up for grabs!
